Korea in focus

Aussies can catch KTO Sydney at the Snow Travel Expo in Sydney on Sunday 26 May and discover more about Korea’s winter adventures. The Korea booth, run by the Korea Tourism Organization, will be showcasing travel info, exclusive deals, and expert advice.

They will be joined by special guests from Korea including Jane DMC Korea, Min Tour & Travel, Sally Tour, Plus Planner, HFORCE Inc., MONA Yongpyong and High1 Resort.

With more than 15 ski resorts, world-class facilities shaped by the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics, and cozy mountain villages steeped in tradition, Korea boasts a snow adventure with a unique cultural twist. Just a few hours from Seoul you’ll find snow-covered peaks, uncrowded runs, vibrant après-ski scenes, and steaming hot dishes that warm you from the inside out.

Skiing & snowboarding in Korea – Most of Korea’s top ski resorts are clustered in the eastern Gangwon-do province, home to the country’s highest snowfall. Travellers, whether they’re a beginner or advanced skier, can enjoy modern lifts, wide slopes, snow parks, and night skiing options throughout the region.

Beyond the slopes: Korea’s Winter Magic – While skiing is what brings most travellers to Korea in the Winter, the nation has more to offer. From cultural immersion to family-friendly fun, Korea is a winter escape that goes well beyond the snow.

Snowy mountain hikes – Korea’s national parks become frozen playgrounds during winter. Seoraksan Mountain and Odaesan Mountain offer breathtaking snow-covered trails perfect for post-ski exploration.

Family fun at the resorts – Korea’s ski resorts offer more than just skiing. Families can enjoy snow tubing hills, sledding parks, and heated indoor or outdoor water parks perfect for a fun-filled winter break. Resorts like High1 and MONA Yongpyong offer great options for kids and non-skiers alike.

Snow-dusted Hanok Village – Travellers can wander through Korea’s preserved hanok houses in Seoul’s Bukchon or Jeonju’s Hanok Village, twinkling with snow and old-world charm.

Relax in a Jjimjilbang – Korea’s traditional bathhouses provide travellers with warm pools, saunas, and a good nap room to enjoy after a day on the slopes.
